Interview With Marc

Q: Who will benefit from the book?

Marc: The concepts, information, and principles covered in the book are fundamental and universal and I believe can benefit every reader.  They apply regardless of what country or city you live in, what religion you subscribe to, your economic situation, what age or gender you are, or what language you speak.  I believe if the book were randomly given to one hundred strangers in any city, town, or village in the world each of them could use the material to make a positive impact on their health, wellness, and well-being.  Though each person may find different concepts or practices that he or she connects with and chooses to apply, everyone would find at least one idea, concept, or practice that would touch and benefit them.

Q: There are many books on health and wellness, why should someone read Eight Shifts for Wellness?

Marc: The book covers a spectrum of information and topics that is uniquely explained in one place.  There may also be concepts, distinctions, and practices covered that the reader may not have come across in other books.  In describing and explaining the material I do it from the perspective of what someone would need to say to me to have me understand it, buy into it, and most importantly inspire me to actually apply it.  You know how sometimes you can hear the same thing from several people and it doesn’t click and then the next person says it in a different way that for some reason connects with you and it all makes sense?  Eight Shifts for Wellness could be that voice that makes it click.

Q: How would you describe your writing style?

Marc: I call the writing style “golden nuggets in a nutshell.”  I succinctly provide “in a nutshell” an explanation, valuable background information, and the logic behind the application of the information, while highlighting the “golden nugget” that can be put to practical and immediate use.

Q: Typically health and wellness books are read by women. How do you think men will relate to your book?

Marc: I am hopeful that men will find the book as interesting and useful as women.  In fact, one of my thoughts when writing was how could I explain the material to a person that really wasn’t that interested in reading a wellness book and inspire him or her to make a shift.  That person will hopefully relate to the information because it is logical and grounded and may offer a new practical way of looking at health and wellness.  Additionally, the information is supported with examples, stories, analogies, real life scenarios, practices, quotes, illustrations, and a touch of humor with the goal of being a catalyst for change in the reader’s life. As a side note, the book includes concepts, principles, and tools that can be applied and be helpful with a person’s career as well as with other aspects of your life such as fantasy football and fantasy baseball, following your local sports teams, and golf.

Q: How about the wellness aficionados?  Will the book be of interest and benefit them?

Marc: It was written to be of service and benefit to all readers.  The book may present new possibilities for health and wellness that they have not encountered before or present concepts and information from a different perspective.

Q: What do you hope to accomplish with this book?

Marc: My wish is that every person who reads Eight Shifts for Wellness will implement at least one idea, concept, or practice to improve his or her health, wellness and well-being and will implement at least one idea, concept, or practice to improve the health, wellness, and well-being of someone else.
